Family: Phi family, Tiffany & Co. line
Big: Desiree Morimoto (Alpha Eta)
Littles: Anne He (Alpha Kappa)
Major: Management Science
Minor: Chinese Studies, Business
College: Thurgood Marshall, 4th year
Hometown: San Jose, CA
Likes: Oprah Winfrey, Thurgood Marshall College, my line, Anne He quotes, coffee, happy music, practicing my really bad Chinese, the sun, laughing
Dislikes: Negativity, cold weather, thinking about the future, moving/packing, unnecessarily long GBMs
Fun facts: I was the 2009-2010 Fellowship Secretary. I still have trouble spelling Sergeant @ Arms [spell check just corrected that for me]. I allow all my friends to think they are really clever when they can make rhymes with my name, such as when they say, “What it do Kelly Du?!”. If I had one wish it would be to find my purpose in life in order to make a difference in the world.
Q: What are the duties of your position?
A: S@A duties include maintaining order at GBM, promoting chapter spirit, handling proposals, overseeing the voting process, taking care of revisions to the Bylaw, keeping track of chapter property, and scheduling composites.
Q: How do I make a proposal?
A: During GBM, when I ask “Are there any proposals?”, raise your hand and say, “I propose…(insert proposal)”. It is best to let me know ahead of time if you have a proposal. This will make passing/not passing your proposal run much smoother. I can get your proposal on my slides (a better visual for the general body) and count the number of good standing actives present.
Q: Who can vote when there is a proposal?
A: Actives in good standing. That’s why you should keep doing your quarterly active requirements! Otherwise, you lose your ability to have a say in what you want when we vote & debate.
Q: Who should join the S@A committee?
A: Members who are creative, fun, and assertive should join my committee. I enjoy getting new creative suggestions on how to promote chapter spirit, but I need members of my committee to help me execute these great ideas. I appreciate any help and will bake for my committee at least once a quarter.
Q: Why do I have the BEST position on E-board?
A: S@A is the most flexible position. I have the opportunity to use my knowledge of being an older brother, of having past E-board experience, of working with older brothers of Rho Pi I look up to in order to directly better our chapter.
